Roberston
Park
3500 Robertson Park Road
Livermore, CA 94550
The Crusty Classic is held in memory of Steve "Crusty" Walsh whose excitement for the sport will always be remembered by those who knew him. Come enjoy the commraderie and a weekend of hot disc dogging action.
The event is open to any and all teams, novice to advanced. The Crusty Classic officially recognizes the following discs for use; the Wham-O Frisbee Fastback, Eurablend, the Hyperflite Competition Standard K-10, JAWS, Hero 235 and the Hero 235 Xtra. Each competitor will receive a competitor's bag on Saturday which includes one commemorative Crusty Classic disc and other goodies. Registration is $5.00 per team per day.
Trophies are awarded to the top three teams per division each day. At the close of the event the cumulative overall points leader is crowned "Best in the West" and the overall California resident points leader receives the "Golden State Disc Dog Champion" award.
Format:
Divisions: The three divisions are Novice Toss & Fetch, Intermediate Toss & Fetch and Advanced Freestyle. Each team may only enter one division each day.
Toss & Fetch: The field is 30 yards by 50 yards with a 10 yard approach zone at each end. The scoring zones are at the 10, 20, 30 & 40 yard lines with awarded points being 1, 2, 3 & 4 respectively plus a 1/2 point bonus for an airborne catch. The time limit is 60 seconds using a single disc.
Freestyle: Choreographed to music, this free form round is judged on a standard 40 point scoring system. The time limit is 120 seconds maximum (90 seconds minimum) and competitors may use up to seven discs.
Bull's-eye: The field for this accuracy round consists of three circle scoring zones which share the same center point. The zones are 30 yards, 15 yards and 5 yards in diameter with awarded points being 1, 3 & 5 respectively. The center point of this field is the middle of the Toss & Fetch field and will use the same throwing line which means the first scoring zone is only 10 yards from the throwing line. The time limit is 60 seconds using up to two discs with a maximum of three throws.
Schedule:
Registration starts at 9:00am with the competition starting at approximately 9:30am both days.
Saturday:
The Novice and Intermediate Toss & Fetch divisions include two rounds of Toss & Fetch. The Advanced Freestyle division includes one round of Toss & Fetch and one round of Freestyle.
Sunday
