This year celebrates the 30th Anniversy of the AWI. Competitors from across the USA, Japan & Germany participated in the two day fun filled event held on May 22-23 in La Mirada. DiscDoGG members Steve & Guinness and Steve & Foster both made the cut into the Open Division second round on Saturday. Cindy & Blaze and Cassi & Stella made the first round cut in Catch and Fetch. Cindy & Blaze made the final cut and had the opportunity to come back on Sunday to compete for title of 2004 Ashley Whippet Invitational Canine Frisbee® Disc World Champion, Catch & Fetch Division. The Purina IDC returned once again to Sharon Meadows in San Francisco on May 28-29. On Friday, DiscDoGG team members took their chance at the two advancement spots for Saturday's big show. The competition was tough but Steve & Foster pulled out a crowd pleaser routine and grabbed a place on Saturday's roster. On Saturday, the disc dog competition was super tough but Steve & Foster pulled off another crowd pleaser and shot into 1st place. With just a few competitors left we watched with nervous excitement and were thrilled when Steve & Foster finished 3rd, earning them a trip to the Purina IDC Finals this October in St Louis, Mo. The SW Regionals came to Dixon on June 28th and DiscDoGG was in the house. While the turnout was lighter than expected, all the members of DiscDoGG were glad to be a part of the action. Open division finalists, 1st place Donna & Ashley, 2nd place Steve & Guinness, 3rd place Cindy & Blaze, 4th place Steve & Foster have each earned an invitation to compete in the 2004 Skyhoundz World Championships this coming September in Atlanta! |

Five teams from DiscDoGG made the long trek to SoCal to compete in the Southern California Frisbee® Dog Challenge - Wags for Wishes weekend. This two day event had a UFO Major and the USDDN Western Regionals and was hosted by Disc Dogs in Southern California! On Saturdays UFO competition, in open division, Steve Malmlov & Foster placed 7th, Steve Teer & Guinness placed 11th, Nate & Shanti placed 12th and Donna & Ashley placed 13th. Steve T also competed with Sandy and took 6th place in the Intermediate Division! Sunday saw the first ever USDDN Western Regionals. In Super Open, Steve & Foster took 2nd place earning them an invite to the USDDN National Finals in Louisville, KY this November. Steve & Guinness took 7th, with Donna & Ashley coming in 19th. In the Open division, Nate & Shanti took 1st Place, a big win for their rookie year! In Pro Toss & Fetch, Steve T & Sandy grabbed 4th place! Sandy is really having a super time this year! Nate & Shanti took 8th and Steve & Foster came in 10th. |

UFO Local Results |
DiscDoGG held their first UFO local on July 17 in Dixon and what a great time we all had. In open, Steve & Foster finished 1st, Sonya & Boo took 2nd and Cassi & Stella placed 3rd. In the intermediate division, Sonya & Commett took 1st, Lou & Tank took 2nd and Donna & Sidney took 3rd. In the novice division Leah & Brisa took 1st, Trudy & Zing took 2nd and Amanda & Milo took 3rd. |

DiscDoGG hosted a Skyhoundz Local Championship at Greer Park in Palo Alto on Aug 01. This was the first time we held a local competition on the peninsula and we definitely plan to be back again. Eight teams competed in open and ten in the sport division. The sport division saw two new teams finish in the top three! Steve & Guinness were the open champs with Cassi & Stella taking 2nd place. Cassi & Stella are doing great in their Rookie season! Donna & Ashley came in a strong 3rd. |

Four teams from DiscDoGG made the trek to Colorado to compete this year. For the Saturday UFO, Donna & Steve finished the first round very strong, placing in the top five. After the toss & fetch and second round, they finished respectively at 6th & 8th place. Good job Donna & Steve! Cindy finished a respectable 16th in this tough open field while Lou had an off day with Tank in the intermediate division. Sunday's Quad was tough with no one from DiscDoGG making it to a final round. Still, as always, it was a great event and we look forward to it again next year! |

The Skyhoundz World Championships were held September 25, 2004 in Atlanta GA. While a number of DiscDoGG teams qualified to compete at this event, unfortunately none could make the journey. |
2004 Crusty Classic & Golden State Disc Dog Championship results |
The 4th Annual Crusty Classic & Golden State Disc Dog Championship was held in beautiful Paso Robles this year, a great half way point between Los Angeles and San Francisco. This friendly competition saw new and old friends come out for a weekend of commraderie and fun disc dog action. Once again the top honors of Golden State Disc Dog Champion went to Benny Wong & KD for their two day combined scores. However, it was a close competition with Nate & Shanti nipping at their heels both days! Check out some pics of the weekend. |
