What a great event this past February with competitors from all over the USA & Japan. A big thanks to Discovering the World for sponsoring this awesome event. DiscDoGG members had a good showing with Steve & Guinness, Steve & Foster and Sonya & Boo making it into the Open Division second round on Saturday. Lou & Tank made the final round and had the opportunity to come back on Sunday to compete for title of 2003 Ashley Whippet Invitational Canine Frisbee® Disc World Champion, Catch & Fetch Division. News Flash! Our very own Steve Teer & Guinness Stout, "Team Flyin' Irish", placed 1st at the 2003 Skyhoundz Southwest Regionals held April 5 in San Diego! Steve & Guinness have earned an invitation to compete in the 2003 Skyhoundz World Championships this coming September! Jill & Sandy competed in Women's Distance Accuracy and placed 3rd! Jill teamed up with Steve & Guinness in the TimeTrial(Team) and they placed 2nd! Way to go Steve & Jill! |

This was our first competition of the year and we couldn't have asked for better weather! 23 teams came out on this beautiful day to compete and have a great time at Hall Park in Dixon. |

Four teams from DiscDoGG made the trek to Colorado to compete in this awesome weekend of disc dogging fun hosted by the Colorado Disc Dogs! This two day event consisted of a UFO major tournament on Saturday and The Quadruped distance event on Sunday. Steve & Donna Malmlov finished 4th & 5th place in the UFO event. Donna was the highest placing women in the competition! Steve came back on Sunday to take 2nd place in the very tough men's intermediate division in the Quadruped and Cindy placed 7th in the womens division. We are already looking forward to 2004! |

What fun we had at the Skyhoundz Open Qualifer/World Championship weekend held September 19 & 20th in Pleasanton, CA. It was great to meet, participate with and be able to see so many fine disc dog teams from around the USA, Japan & Canada. Congratulations go out to Jeff Stanaway & Cory, 2003 Skyhoundz World Champs! DiscDoGG members had a strong showing on Friday. In the Open Expert Division, Donna Malmlov & Ashley Whatsit and Britanny Wolf & Ginger earned World Finalist qualifying berths for the finals held on Saturday. Later that afternoon, Donna & Ashley went on to take 1st Place in Women's Freestyle/Distance Accuracy. Mai & Boomer followed up with 1st Place in Women's Time Trial. Way to go ladies! We all tried our hand at earning a berth in the Sport Division finals but none made the cut. Saturday's World Finals found Donna & Ashley tied for 14th place with Steve & Guinness Stout. A fine finish for our first time World Finalists! |

Three teams from DiscDoGG made the trek to SoCal to compete in this action packed UFO Major hosted by the Disc Dogs in Southern California! In the Novice Division, Jill Teer & Sandy took 1st place! Way to go Jill! While in the Open Division, Steve Teer & Guinness Stout placed 4th and Steve Malmlov & Foster placed 7th. Since Donna couldn't make the trip down, hubby Steve borrowed Ashley Whatsit and competed with her in the Intermediate division, taking 2nd place! Now that the UFO 2003 season has drawn to a close, hats off to Steve Malmlov & Foster for their 10th place overall ranking in the UFO 2003 National series! |
2003 Crusty Classic & Golden State Disc Dog Championship Results |
The 3rd Annual Crusty Classic & Golden State Disc Dog Championship was held in conjunction with the Flying Disc Dog Open on Oct 25th & 26th. Co-hosted by DiscDoGG and D2ISC, this weekend event is always a favorite for everyone. Try as we might, DiscDoGG members couldn't bring the Crusty Cup back to NorCal and D2ISC gets to keep the bragging rights for another year! No worries though, we'll be back in 2004! Steve Teer & Guinness Stout finished 2nd place in Advanced, Mai Idzkowski & Boomer finished 1st place in Intermediate, and Denise Townzen & Riley finished 4th in Novice. Congratulations to J.D. Platt and Galaxy, The Golden State Disc Dog Challenge Overall winner! J.D. & Galaxy's combined two day scores brought home the well deserved hardware. While Benny Wong & KD took home the 2003 honors of California "Golden State Disc Dog Champions". A great way to end the 2003 season! |
