Ashley was a shelter puppy adopted at 8 weeks of age with a normal coat of hair. At about 3 months old, she lost the hair on the under side of her body and on the top of her tail. She developed the slender lines of the Mexican Hairless, but has retained beautiful blue merle Heeler markings on her back head and legs; and, her left eye is nearly half blue.
Most people ask, "What kind of dog is that?", which led to her "stage name": Ashley Whatsit?, which is also a tribute to the most famous Frisbee dog, Ashley Whippet. Our best guess is that she is part Blue Merle Australian Cattle Dog (Queensland Heeler), Australian Shepherd and Mexican Hairless.
Ashley's nickname is the "Bare-bellied, bald-butted, rat-tailed, one-half-blue-eyed little mongrel".
